Useful test evidence
A test plan should explain what an activity is intended to demonstrate.
Begin with purpose
A test activity needs a clear relationship with a requirement or agreed acceptance criterion. Define that relationship before the work begins. The purpose is evidence that can be understood, not simply a completed checklist.
Capture the context
The equipment configuration, document revision and conditions relevant to the activity belong in the record. Context makes the result interpretable. Without it, a result can become separated from the system it was intended to describe.
Review the outcome
Open items should have an owner and an agreed route to resolution. The completed package should distinguish accepted evidence from outstanding questions. Equipment-specific procedures remain the responsibility of qualified professionals.
