Production controls

Control-system capability extending beyond drilling into production applications.

Understand the process

Begin with the functions to be supported, the operating context and the interfaces with existing equipment. A clear scope distinguishes what is included in the control package from responsibilities held by the wider facility. This prevents assumptions from becoming hidden project requirements.

Engineer for use

Operator access, maintenance and documentation form part of the design discussion. Components should be evaluated as part of the system they serve. The engineering record explains the basis for choices and provides a consistent reference for project reviews.

Plan the handover

A useful handover includes the approved configuration, relevant drawings and a route for questions. Training and service planning should align with the actual delivered equipment. Changes after delivery need the same attention to review and records as the original design.
